Epic Scenes

"You know what's an epic scene?When Joe Pesci is all "how am i funny?" in Goodfellas. Or how about Deniro doing the "you talking to me"thing?"

Well i could go that route but i want to try to stay a little more obscure.

from wikepedia;
"Battle Royale takes place in an alternate timeline—Japan is a national socialist state, known as the Republic of Greater East Asia.Under the guise of a "study trip," a group of students from Shiroiwa Junior High Schoolare sleep-gassed on a bus. They awaken in an isolated, evacuated island. They learn that they have been placed in an event called The Program. Officially a military research project, The Program is a means of terrorizing the population, of creating such paranoia as to make organized insurgency impossible. According to the rules, every year since 1947, fifty 3rd year junior high school (14-15 years old) classes are isolated, and each class is required to fight to the death until one student remains. Their movements are restricted by metal collars, later identified as Model Guadalcanal No. 22, around their necks which contain tracking and listening devices; if any student should attempt to escape The Program, or enter declared "danger zones", a bomb will be detonated in the collar, killing the wearer. If no student dies in any 24 hour period, all collars will be detonated simultaneously.

After being briefed about The Program, the students are issued survival packs which include a map, compass, flashlight, food and water, and a random weapon or other item, which may be anything from a gun to a paper fan. "

To say this film is intense is like saying Niagra Falls is wet.About half way thru the film one of the main male characters is injured and saved by a group of females who are best friends and have set up home in a lighthouse.They refuse to fight and are waiting the contest out.One of the girls who was shunned by boys at the school doesn't trust the injured boy so she poisons his food.An accident switches the food and a girl dies.What chills me about this scene is how fast friendship and love dissolve and fear,mistrust and violence happen in an instant.

I also recommend the book which is 3x more detail oriented and able to flesh every character out better and the graphic novels are fun although they didn't appeal to me like the film and book.
