Heroquest For Sale

Myself and my wife run an eBay store.She sews these awesome baby blankets(that's for another post) but anyway,i went to this awesome garage sale last weekend.The lady there was 85 and getting rid of her collection of (get this) g.i. Joe,star wars figures,hot wheels,barbies,and board games.She was a collector!After declaring my love to her, i went about buying quite a bit of her board games.I scored an Indiana Jones game,solar quest,tank battle,and hero quest.Since i already have a copy I'm selling mine in my eBay store.The set is complete and in great condition.Check it out.

Every blog has her pictures, i know.Her leaning over the hood,her dissing that nerd(and inner nerd in us)with the flower,her straddling a motorcycle.She's beyond beautiful.I get it.And she's supposedly a star wars fan.AND she's got a marilyn monroe tattoo.She seems like the perfect girl right?I don't know why but I've been pretty "meh" over her up until i saw this picture.I mean look at this picture of her!

Pin ups PART 3

My wife and i went to a pin-up convention in 2001 at Rosemont just outside Chicago.We tend to avoid modern pin-ups(to much blond and plastic) but love meeting and getting autographs of vintage models and bunnys.Walking around we saw Dita sitting alone behind a fold up table.No line,no bodyguards...just Dita.We vaguely recognized her from fetish magazines like Fetish, Marquis, and Skin Two.We walked over and couldn't believe how nice and accommodating she was.She signed a B&W glossy for us and even posed for a picture with us.She is now a modern Bettie and has become the dream of many males and females alike.We caught one of her feather fan shows years later at an after party for Marilyn Manson.As she was exiting the stage she looked at me and my wife and smiled.I like to think she remembered us from that 10 minute talk years before.

Hi,my name is Ken.Its been 1001 days, 9 hours, 12 minutes and 58 seconds since i smoked a cigarette..

Its also been 62 days, 4 hours, 39 minutes and 43 seconds since i purchased a Star Wars figure.

And i am done.When the line was re-introduced i was ecstatic.I bought up every figure,sometimes paying double (boba fett,vader).Yep.....every damn one of these horrible,steroid looking figures.




Then came Phantom Menace.I must have been broke or knocked sense into my head because i purchased very few of these figures.Also somewhere in the timeline figures were introduced on a different card every week it seemed.With the exception of a select few i avoided these like the plague.



But with Revenge my interest was sparked again.Not only did i like Revenge of the Sith but i loved the new packaging and hasbro was doing some of the best figure sculpts in recent memory.I was all over these.



Hasbro changed the card backs, and while not as cool as the "lava" cards,the figures were still awesome.These cardbacks kinda grew on me.



The "clone" cardbacks were a logical next step and the cold aesthetic matched the way i felt the line was going.I'm not crazy about this design but the white really let the figures "pop".



These are the future cardbacks.

I'm done.Lucas has done everything he can to make me "NOT" A fan.Re cutting the films,jar-jar,Marketing Star Wars EVERYTHING.....WAIT...i'm saving my lucas rant for another day.With the exception of a figure that i absolutely have to have i am done buying Star Wars figures.

My addiction has moved on to board games anyway.

5 Things I Still Wish I Had

My uncle took me to a lot of auto shows as a kid.At one of them i got Burt Ward and Adam Wests autograph.This must have been before they hated each other because now if they do autograph sessions they don't sit together,and i clearly remember them being at the same table.I think the picture they signed may have been sold at a garage sale with a lot of old Starlog and Eerie and Creepy mags i got rid of in my teen years.



One Christmas we went to this church thing that Santa was at.My uncles kept pushing me to go see Santa but i remember thinking I'm to cool for that I'm older,I KNOW THE TRUTH blah,blah.Well i finally went to get a picture for my uncle and Santa saw me and said"oh ken,i got something special for you"and he gave me the stormtrooper blaster.I was blown away Santa knew my name and i liked Star Wars!I'm guessing this got thrown out.



All my Advanced Dungeons and Dragons shit!Dice,pewter figure,maps,drawings,books....
Why didn't anyone in my family save my shit for me!?!?! My wife has toys all the way back to pre-school!(she says it's cause her family loved her more.)



I suspect that this may still be in a box at my grandmas house.



I trashed this as a kid because it sounded really bad.Me and my Friends were playing "wkrp in Cincinnati" and the Kiss player kept spazzing so i threw it.

Pin ups PART 2

My first pin-up pick was a no brainer,Bettie Page. Hell, because of her i got into pin-up and saw the art and beauty that modern models and dime-a-dozen fake boobs,fake blonds couldn't hold a candle to. My next choice seemed to way heavier on my mind.Dita von Tease or Marilyn Monroe. Dita is a world class beauty, some even say the Bettie Page of our generation. Ah.. but Marilyn is a household name. Shes inspired song,art,film, and fashion.But is she a pin-up? Hmmm.This decision was pretty much made up when new photos surfaced of Marilyn.Dita will be my next pin-up pick but here's Norma Jean-
